Emergency services responded to a crash on State Highway 2 at Te Puna tonight after a car struck and dislodged a power pole.

A police spokeswoman said a 111 call came in just before 5.30pm about the crash on SH2 between Minden Rd and Loop Rd which partially blocked the highway for a time.

The dislodged power pole landed on top of the vehicle, but traffic was still flowing and the driver was treated for minor injuries by St John Ambulance staff, she said.
