Reports are coming in of a crash on one of Tauranga's busiest arterial routes.

Firefighters are responding to reports of the three-car collision, on Takitimu Drive (State Highway 2) near the Waihi Rd off-ramp.

A photographer at the scene said traffic was backed up along 15th Ave because of the crash, and on Takitimu Dr to the Waihi Rd onramp.

Fire Service northern communications spokeswoman Megan Ruru said no one was seriously hurt in the collision but firefighters were helping to manage traffic.
