The closure of the Turret Rd slip lane exit has been delayed until after the Covid-19 lockdown.
Tauranga City Council had originally planned to close the slip lane on Thursday after bringing the closure date forward from April when the Burrows St traffic lights were due to come on line.
Tauranga City Council said today all of the council's active construction sites were being shut down and contractors were making the sites safe as the country headed towards the Covid-19 alert level 4
Meanwhile a trench in the road near Burrows St needs to be back-filled and sealed which was being done today.
It will require a detour for people driving towards Welcome Bay.
