Tauranga man Graeme Roy Voyce has been named as the driver who died in a crash in the lower Kaimai on Saturday.
Mr Voyce, better known as Roy, was killed when his black Rover MG crossed the centre line and crashed into an oncoming Volvo on State Highway 29 in
the Lower Kaimai at 4pm on Saturday.
The 52-year-old Ohauiti resident, a courier driver for Tauranga Courier Post, had just passed the turn-off to McLaren Falls and was travelling downhill towards Tauranga, when he lost control.
Mr Voyce's car, with two occupants, crossed the highway and crashed head-on into the Volvo. The impact sent the Volvo spinning off the road and down a steep bank, where it stopped about six metres below.
Two other vehicles were struck, with one having moderate damage and the other minor damage.
