A group of 10 kindergarteners caught a bus to the Bay of Plenty Times office with bags full of food to donate to the Tauranga Community Foodbank.
The children from Greerton Village Kindergarten caught the public bus yesterday to personally deliver food items collected for the Tauranga Community Foodbank.
KindergartenersSanjog Dhillon, Alyshia Handley, Anjali Sharma, Eli Wooten, Charlie Lynch-Josephs, Poppy Ockwell, Seaton Crump, Tova Williams, Finn West and Kaia Matenga each carried a bag of food with them on the bus and put it under the tree at the Bay of Plenty Times office.

They also took the time to admire the Christmas decorations and lights.
Head teacher Pam Hunton said the kindergarten had decided a couple of weeks ago to support a local charity.
"We saw the ad in the paper and thought, 'that's the one we need to do'.
"Our families all donated items for the foodbank and we thought, 'what better way to get here than for the children to do it themselves and see what's happening to it?'"
Mrs Hunton said Bay Hopper buses were free for under-5s, so the decision was made to jump on the bus and make a whole outing of the experience.
"We talked to the children about some people being less fortunate and needing some help.
"We thought about how we could get the boxes here, then realised actually, it's about the children, so we divvied the food up into bags so they could be responsible for that food."
