A 19-year-old check-out operator has been announced as UnitedFuture's new Tauranga candidate.

Leader Peter Dunne announced this morning the selection of James Maxwell to represent the city in the September 20 election.

Mr Maxwell is currently employed as supermarket check-out operator, and has qualifications in business management, and retail services. He is a member of the Royal Society of New Zealand and an Associate Member of the Institute of Leadership and Management.

At 19 years old, Mr Maxwell is likely to be the youngest candidate standing at this year's election.

Mr Dunne said more candidates will be announced shortly, and the Party's list selection process is currently underway, with the list due to be released in the next few weeks.
