Tauranga Te Papa Rotary Club yesterday handed over three cheques, each worth $3300, to three charities.

The money was raised at last year's Melbourne Cup Charity Luncheon and was given to Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand, Tauranga SPCA and Tauranga St John.

Organising committee member Richard Kilfoil said the club was already starting work on this year's event and tickets would be going on sale in mid-April.
