Emergency services responded to a crash on Turret Rd after a car heading towards Tauranga slide down a bank about 100m from Welcome Bay roundabout this morning.

The driver lost control just after 11am after the front wheels of their car dropped into ditch and the vehicle slide about 3m down a bank, a Greerton Fire spokesperson said.

Traffic heading towards Tauranga was reduced to one lane, a reporter at the scene said.

Two police cars and a fire appliance were in attendance.

There are no reports of any injuries.
