A car collided with a power pole in Waihī overnight.

A police media spokeswoman said police were alerted to the scene on Frankton Rd after a car crashed into a power pole at 11.50pm.

The car was found to be unoccupied, the spokeswoman said.

Police are looking to speak with the registered owner.

There was no major damage to the pole.
