Car hits parked vehicle and flips in Mount Maunganui, lane blocked

A car has flipped in Mount Maunganui leaving one person with moderate injuries.

Emergency services were called to the crash on Oceanbeach Rd, near the intersection of Concord Ave, at 9.40am.

A police spokesperson said a vehicle had hit a parked car and flipped.

“One person appears to have moderate injuries and is being assessed by ambulance – they look to be the only person involved in the crash.

“The northbound lane is currently blocked while they await removal of the vehicle.”

Hato Hone St John said they were notified of the crash at 9.35am, responding with one ambulance.

“One patient was assessed at the scene and taken to Tauranga Hospital (by ambulance) in a moderate condition.”

Inquiries into the crash were ongoing.
