Police are attending the scene of a two-vehicle crash on SH2 near Te Puna

State Highway 2 is closed while emergency services attend a crash near Te Puna.

Police received a report of a two-vehicle crash on SH2 near Loop Rd at around 4.20pm.

“The road is blocked while emergency services are in attendance. Contractors have been contacted,” police said.

NZTA Waka Kotahi advises that SH2 is closed between Te Puna Road and Snodgrass Road.

Motorists are advised to follow a short detour and expect delays.

For northbound traffic, turn right onto Te Puna Road, left onto Armstrong Road, left onto Snodgrass Road to return to SH2. Southbound traffic is in reverse.

A SunLive reader reported the crash was “just north of the BP station at Te Puna”.

“The traffic has completely stopped, and the road is blocked. It’s just north of the Minden Rd/SH2 roundabout.”
