Candidates present to Bay students

A meet the candidates event at Bay of Plenty Polytechnic was well attended by candidates, staff and students.

About 50 student and polytechnic staff turned up to hear a two minute speech from almost all the political candidates running for seats in the Tauranga, Bay of Plenty and Waiariki electorates.

The floor was then opened to questions from the crowd and varied from race-based policies and fishing quotas to the number of disabled politicians in parliament.
