By-election welcoming last minute enrolments

Last minute enrolments are being accepted for the Mount Maunganui Papamoa Ward by-election, election day on February 17, 2015.

"If you haven't enrolled in time to get your voting papers in the mail, you can still enrol and cast a special vote in the Mount Maunganui-Papmoa Ward by-election," said Lesley Christophers, registrar of electors for the
Tauranga and Bay of Plenty electorate's.

If people think they are enrolled but haven't received voting papers in the mail, they need to update their details and cast a special vote as well.

People can enrol or update their details now by calling 0800 36 76 56, Freetexting their name and address to 3676, from any PostShop or by requesting or downloading one from the elections website www.elections.org.nz.

Anyone enrolling from now on will need to apply to their local Electoral Officer to cast a special vote.

People who enrolled between December 23, 2014 and polling day will need to contact the Electoral Officer Warwick Lampp 0508 666 002 direct or contact the Tauranga City Council to get information on how to apply to cast a special vote.

Locals who are on the unpublished roll will also need to apply to cast a special vote in the by-election. Electors on this roll should contact the Tauranga Electoral Officer Warwick Lampp at 0508 666 002 direct to get information on how to apply to cast a special vote or the Tauranga City Council.
