Letts Construction at Tauriko Business Estate is in celebration mode as it marks an array of milestones, but owners Rob (pictured) and Jennie Campbell say giving people jobs is their greatest satisfaction.
In the last six weeks it had hired four staff and will be opening its new factory and office complex and celebrating its 50th anniversary next week.
Mr Campbell said it was exciting being able to offer people employment after the business went through a few tough years.
"I like giving the young ones or older people an opportunity. We are always looking for factory and construction staff."
The company specialised in building everything from garages to commercial, industrial and residential properties and had a frame and truss manufacturing plant.
Business was "absolutely crazy", Mr Campbell said. Over a seven-day period that ended on Monday it had sold 20 per cent of its yearly building turnover.
"We are lucky - we have been around for a long time and everyone of those has been repeat customers."
Confidence was running high, he said.
"It's exciting times and good for the Tauranga area without a doubt. At the moment I don't think we can sustain this growth as a country or a town but ... it's still been good growth for us."
