Alan Davies is bringing his Think Ahead show to New Zealand in 2026.

Critically acclaimed British stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and TV personality, Alan Davies is returning to Aotearoa for the first time in a decade.

The QI panellist has announced an extensive New Zealand tour for July and August 2026, in which he’ll perform his new comedy show, Think Ahead.

The tour will commence in Kirikiriroa Hamilton on Friday, July 31 before heading to Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Tauranga, Ahuriri Napier, Pōneke Wellington, Ngāmotu New Plymouth, Papaioea Palmerston North, Ōtautahi Christchurch, and concluding at Ōtepoti Dunedin’s Regent Theatre on August 13.

General public tickets go on sale on Thursday, November 27 at 1pm. A presale commences on Wednesday, November 26 at 12pm.

A press release describing Think Ahead says, “Alan Davies thinks he’s Marty McFly but he’s older than Doc Brown. He spends more time in the pharmacy than the gym. Subject to relentless eye rolls from his kids. What is he? A late middle-aged stand-up on tour for the first time in a decade. Funnier than ever".

One of the UK’s best-loved comedians, Davies is a staple of British television, known for his performance as the lead of the long-running TV series Jonathan Creek, and as a permanent panellist on quiz show QI.

Davies has released three memoirs: My Favourite People and Me, 1978–88 published in September 2009, Just Ignore Him, published in September 2020 and White Male Stand-Up, released in September this year. In both his latest memoir and his latest stand-up performances, Davies covers his extensive career, the highs, the lows, and the struggles he’s experienced.

Davies last toured Aotearoa in 2015, performing 11 dates with his Little Victories tour. Reviewing Davies’ 2013 show Life is Pain, the Herald determined Davies was “cheery, silly and quick-witted” and said: “Your jaw will hurt from laughter.”
