A 9-year-old boy on a bicycle has been injured in a collision with a car in Mount Maunganui this morning.

A police officer at the Oceanbeach Rd scene said the boy was clipped above the eye by a car mirror but was okay.

A police spokeswoman said the collision, between Surf Rd and Concord Ave, was reported at 7.52am.

Police and St John Ambulance attended.

Meanwhile, no one was injured in a collision between a car and a truck on the Waihi Rd onramp in Tauranga.

The crash was reported at 7.56am.

The vehicles were not blocking and the drivers were exchanging details.
