A Tauranga teenager whose life has been "blighted by alcohol" has been jailed for 18 months after  he threatened to rip off a police officer's head and drink his blood.
Cullen Bevins-Simeon, 19, of Bellevue, appeared in Tauranga District Court yesterday  before Judge Christopher Harding for sentencing on a raft of
charges.
Bevins-Simeon had early admitted one charge each of  possessing cannabis, resisting police, two charges of assault with intent to injure and assault on police, plus three charges of threatening to kill or do grievous bodily harm. The charges stem from two  incidents.
During the first at 12.40am on January 1 after Bevins-Simeon had been drinking alcohol and consuming illegal drugs, he approached a woman on Pacific Ave, Mount Maunganui, who was walking back from the New Year's Eve fireworks display with her boyfriend. He began making derogatory and indecent remarks to the her.
