One of this summer's biggest events, Bay Dreams, has just announced the festival will kick off in style with a pre-party on January 1.

Danny Brown, NAO, and The Black Seeds have been announced as headliners for the pre-party, joined by Summer Thieves, State of Mind and Mana Lion.

For the first time, the pre-party will be held on Bay Dreams' massive outdoor stage.

This is only the first installment of acts to be announced for the pre-party and, with tickets to the event proving popular, festival organisers are urging punters to get in quickly.

US rapper and MC Danny Brown's appearance at the Bay Dreams pre-party will be his only show in New Zealand.

British singer-songwriter NAO has been riding high since releasing her debut album For All We Know in 2016, which saw her nominated for Best British Female Solo Artist at the Brit Awards.

One of Aotearoa's finest reggae groups The Black Seeds, who have just released their new record Fabric, completes the headline acts.

Those who have already purchased tickets to the festival can add-on a pre-party ticket with prices starting from $69. Camping for the pre-party on January 1 is also available as an add-on and starts at $40.

Tickets to the R18+ festival are available at www.baydreams.co.nz.
