Homes of Hope got some much-needed help around the yard yesterday.

About 30 volunteers from ANZ Bank helped with the work around the non-government organisation's site. The volunteers came together to knock down a shed, clear paths and gardens, paint another shed, build a private section within the complex with new fencing, make a wood shed and donate more than $1000 to the charity.

Lee-Anne Fuller, Homes of Hope operations support, said the day came as a blessing for the small team.

"We can only do so much with the funding we get. It makes all the difference to us and what we are doing here," she said.

Rob Yeoman, ANZ regional manager of business banking, said Homes of Hope was a worthwhile charity. "It does such a good job with the kids," he said.

"We had a look at a number of charities and this meant more to our team in terms of seeing underprivileged children. It pulls at our [heart] strings. We put it to a team vote and it was unanimous to come here."

Mr Yeoman said it was amazing the difference 30 people could make in such a short time.
