The stolen getaway car used in an aggravated robbery of a Tauranga bank has been found in Rotorua, as police release CCTV footage of one of the offenders.
A man entered the Greerton ANZ bank at 2.30pm yesterday afternoon, demanding money from a teller.
Tauranga police believe two offenders were involved with the principal suspect (pictured) inside the bank and a second offender outside.
The second offender outside the bank is described as:
- Male, maori/Pacific Islander
- Wearing a dark coloured sleeveless top
- Short dark hair
- Sunglasses
- Dark coloured 'cargo style' shorts
- Aged between 20 - 30yrs
- Medium build.
Police believe that the vehicle used by these offenders was a Nissan Pulsar coloured dark grey registration number XD 2541.
This vehicle was stolen from Te Awamutu yesterday morning, and was recovered by police in Rotorua this morning.
Police are appealing for any information concerning the movements of this vehicle in the Waikato/Bay of Plenty areas from midday yesterday, and from anyone who recognises this offender.
