Emergency services are responding to reports of an assault at Bayfair Shopping Centre.

Police and ambulance staff are at the scene.

A police spokeswoman said police were called about 4.30pm and initial reports were that a man had assaulted another man.

Reports were that one of the men was bleeding from a cut above the eye, she said.

A reporter at Bayfair said there was a man on the ground who appeared to be unconscious.
