A pedestrian was hit by a car in Tauranga this morning.

A police media spokeswoman said police were sent to the intersection of Devonport Rd and 11th Ave, about 8.25am.

A St John spokeswoman said one ambulance went to the scene and a person with minor injuries was taken to Tauranga Hospital.
