Power has been restored to more than 200 Tauranga properties.

A total of 237 Bellevue properties lost power about 10.20am, according to the Powerco outages website.

However, all have now been restored.

A power transformer, damaged during adverse weather in Tauranga on Monday, was the cause.

Powerco Network operations manager Karen Frew said the power was disconnected to Bellevue customers about 10.30am to allow for the repair work to be carried out on the transformer near the intersection of Bellevue Rd and Sereno Vista.

"Following the damage on Monday, we installed two generators to ensure customers continued to receive power supply," she said.

Work began this morning to replace the faulty equipment and was completed about noon.
