A lane is partially blocked and traffic is backing up on both sides after a crash on State Highway 29a in Maungatapu.

A police spokeswoman said one car had rear-ended another about 6.25am, but there were no injuries.

She said tow trucks were on the way and traffic had backed up in both lanes.

Motorists can expect delays, she said.
