A person has been taken to hospital following an assault near a Tauranga shopping centre this afternoon.
A police spokesman said police were called to reports that one person had assaulted another at 2.39pm.
He said the assault happened on the corner of Waitaha Rd and Welcome Bay Rd near
the Welcome Bay shopping centre.
A St John ambulance spokeswoman said one person was transported to Tauranga Hospital in a minor condition.
