Police were notified of a collision between a car and a bus on State Highway 2 this morning.

A police spokeswoman confirmed police were notified by St John of the crash in Te Puna at 11.40am.

She said fire services had also been notified but it was unclear if police were on the scene yet.

A St John spokeswoman said an ambulance transported one person with moderate injuries to Tauranga Hospital. She said two ambulances attended.
