Police are urging Tauranga residents to check their properties for missing 85-year-old Brian Davies.

Davies was last seen on Wednesday around 11:45am in Matua, Tauranga.

Police believe he may be in the Whakamarama Rd area and ask residents to check their properties and sheds.

A police media spokesman said police had been searching for Davies in the central Tauranga area where he was last seen.

Anyone who has seen Davies is asked to contact police on 105.
