Two people were injured in a crash involving a moped and a pushbike at a busy Tauranga chokepoint this morning.

A police media spokesman said officers received reports of a crash on Turret Rd near Hairini at 8.07am.

The crash involved a moped and pushbike, he said.

One person received moderate injuries and the other minor injuries. However, the spokesman was unable to clarify who, or what the ages of the people involved were.

St John ambulance were called to the scene and treated the patients.
