Police were alerted to the incident at 7.30 this morning.

Police were alerted to the incident at 7.30 this morning.

A piece of machinery has fallen off a trailer blocking part of the Te Puke Highway.

The incident happened in the northbound lane near Welcome Bay Rd and traffic was moving slowly in the area.

A police communications spokeswoman said police came across the incident at 7.31am and no injuries were recorded.

A motorist said it looked like a hydraulic ladder had fallen off the vehicle, causing the delay.
