The Tauranga Waterfront was buzzing this morning for the ANZ Community Day as part of the Tauranga Arts Festival.

Hundreds of people were getting involved in all the activities and market stalls that lined The Strand.

The street was blocked off from traffic which allowed people of all ages, from grandparents to babies, to freely roam.

There was something for everyone including food stalls, a dance show and an art treasure hunt.

Tauranga Arts Festival volunteer Sarah Bate said it was great "seeing Tauranga turn out and support the event".

The ANZ Community Day was a celebration of the Tauranga Arts Festival's 10th birthday.

Tauranga Mayor Greg Brownless cut the birthday cake to the sound of more than 100 people singing "happy birthday".
