The finalists in the 2017 NZI Sustainable Business Network Awards have been announced.
The awards celebrate businesses or organisations which have worked hard to make New Zealand a more sustainable nation.
The finalists are Agrissentials, Bayfair Shopping Centre, HR Cement, Ian McLean and Josie Evans.
Comedian Ben Hurley is expected to MC the event alongside several speakers including Tauranga Mayor Greg Brownless.
Sustainable Business Network regional manager Glen Crowther said the group wanted to highlight the great success of the Bay businesses over the past year.
"There are five finalists from the region that have made our national awards, plus many other businesses that had strong entries but missed out on a record number of entries from around New Zealand.
"Another highlight of the event this year is that we will be celebrating [the network's] 15th birthday. Bay of Plenty-based members are among the 23 nationwide that have remained members since our organisation was formed in 2002. These are BOP Regional Council, Comvita and Zest Consulting.
"In a way, these three perfectly capture our diverse membership. One is a large corporate, another a council, and the third a small business. Sustainable Business Network caters for all types and sizes of business, and we work together to help make NZ a more sustainable nation."
