A parking mishap has caused a car to crash through the shop window of a petrol station in Mount Maunganui today.

The owner of a small car accelerated through the window of the Gull outlet on Hewletts Rd.

Police were called to the scene at 11.45am.

They said it looked as though a "parking accident" was the cause of the crash.

The car has since been towed.

Hewletts Rd Gull manager Manjit Kaur said she was in the shop when the car smashed through the window but no one was injured.

She said this was the second time a car had crashed through the same window in the past two months.
