Accounting firm Ingham Mora has been helping the Tauranga Community Foodbank for at least 16 years.

Ingham Mora director Richard Dey said the firm helped the foodbank each year with its audits at a discounted rate, to a value of about $1500.

The foodbank was a worthy organisation to support, he said.

"We've had a relationship with the foodbank for a long time. They have in the past needed quite a bit of support around things like preparing their financial statements. We've helped them out with that.

"We've been involved with them since 2000 in the records that I can see. We've been happy to support them in that."

Mr Dey said the foodbank was not the only community organisation the firm helped in this way.

"We've provided those services for a number of community-based organisations, in particular, those that are small and need some support in some shape or form. It's a way that we as a firm see as being able to contribute to the not-for-profit charity sector in town."
