Biker thrown through bus windscreen still serious

The 43-year-old Matamata man hurt in a crash involving a bus remains in a serious condition at Tauranga Hospital.

The man had been riding a motorbike when he was in collision with the bus at Barkes Corner, the busy intersection of SH29 and Cameron Rd.

A hospital spokesman said the man was in a serious but stable condition this afternoon.

The man suffered leg and chest injuries after he was thrown through the windscreen of the bus.
