Grammy Award winners TLC are returning to the southern hemisphere and have confirmed they'll visit NZ for the first time.

The iconic hip-hop and R&B act will tour Australia and New Zealand this November. The NZ shows are in Wellington, Tauranga and Auckland, The Hits reports.

Joining TLC in Adelaide and Auckland will be fellow '90s R&B sensation Montell Jordan.

Pre-sale tickets (frontier members) are available from Weds 24 August, while the NZ shows go on sale at 12pm Monday 29 August.

Formed in Atlanta in 1991, TLC are a five-time Grammy Award winning act who captured the world's attention with their sassy and sophisticated R&B set against a socially conscious lyrical style. These three empowered women, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes would go on to sell over 65 million records worldwide.

Tragically in 2002, Lopes was killed in a car accident while spending time in Honduras. Refusing to call it quits in honour of their fallen sister, T-Boz and Chilli have since continued to tour worldwide.

In 1994 TLC released CrazySexyCool. Selling over 11 million copies in America alone, the record was nominated for six Grammys, and winning Best R&B Album. The truly iconic nature of CrazySexyCool remains true, following an entry in Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time.

Featuring iconic jams like 'Waterfalls', 'If I Was Your Girlfriend' (penned by the late icon Prince) and 'Creep', it's no surprise the album has become an R&B classic.
