Car and scooter crash in Papamoa

A car and a scooter have collided on the corner of Gloucester Rd and Coast Boulevard.

Emergency services have been called to a crash between a car and a scooter in Papamoa.

Constable Pete Simmons said a woman had been taken to hospital for observation after the crash.

The two vehicles collided on the corner of Coast Boulevard and Gloucester Rd at 8.12am.

There were no road closures and a reporter at the scene said the crash looked minor.

Meanwhile, a station wagon crashed into a tree on a traffic island in Topaz Dr at 8.20am.

A police officer at the scene, who did not want to be named, said a man was driving along Topaz Dr and has gone into the bush.

There were no injuries.
