A security guard has been injured at The Warehouse Tauranga today.

Police are investigating an allegation of theft from The Warehouse on Cameron Rd, Tauranga about 10am.

A police spokeswoman said the suspect left in a vehicle, knocking the security guard to the ground. Ambulance attended and the guard
was taken to Tauranga Hospital with minor injuries.

Police were speaking to a man in relation to the incident and were not looking for anyone else.

Initially, police believed a person had been run over.

A reporter at the scene saw a person being carried to an ambulance on a stretcher.

Anyone who saw what happened or has information about the incident is asked to contact Tauranga Police on 07 577 4300, or call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
