Two city centre trees will soon be removed, Tauranga City Council says.
The two trees needed to be removed because they were starting to damage the surrounding infrastructure, the council said.
The removals will take place at the end of this month.
One of the trees was a brachychiton near
the corner of Wharf St and Willow St. The other was a hymenosporum tree opposite Housing NZ on Grey St, this tree was suppressing a smaller tree that would need to be assessed for its health once the larger tree was removed.
The trees will be replaced at a future date.
