Tauranga's best cheerleaders have been recognised in the first Bay Twisters competition held at the weekend.

The non-profit cheer team competed in their first 'Cheerfest Championships hosted by Cheersports NZ' competition.

This was the first year Bay Twisters competed in their mini division and will hold their own competition in Tauranga in September.

Results from Saturday's efforts as Auckland Netball Centre:

Starlets Youth LEVEL 1 3rd place

Thunder Senior level 2 1st Place
Tornado Senior Level 3 2nd place

Anna Grigson Solo senior level 5 1st place (ZERO DEDUCTIONS)

Priya, Taryn, Frankie & Kayleigh Stunt group level 4 1st place (ZERO DEDUCTIONS)
