Save A woman who fell on stairs and suffered a serious back injury has been flown to Tauranga Hospital.
The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Opotiki at 3:30pm where the 46-year-old woman had fallen.
The helicopter met a road ambulance at the Opotiki airfield and she was transferred onboard
and flown to hospital for further assessment and treatment.
The helicopter was called due to the seriousness of the back injury and distance to the required hospital.
