There is a huge queue of people eager to go aboard the HMNZS Hawea, which is docked in Tauranga today.

The ship is open to the public and a reporter at the scene said the line to get on winds down all the way to Salisbury Avenue, and looked as if people would be waiting for at least an hour.

The ship is here as part of the Royal New Zealand Navy's 75th Anniversary and Anzac day commemorations.
