KOKOMO Jazz Festival Concert is predicted by organisers to soon sell out, after the final small allocation of tickets were released, when usually kept for a contingency.
Tauranga blues & roots band Kokomo will be opening the jazz festival on March 24, in Baycourt's Addison Theatre to celebrate the band's 25-year-anniversary.
Band frontman Derek Jacombs said he was "absolutely delighted" with how well the tickets were selling.
"It's great to hear that people are coming from all round the country to help us celebrate.
"We've spent the last couple of weeks in intensive rehearsals with the musicians who are going to be special guests on the night. The band is really ready to roll!"
Kokomo will be joined by award-winning keyboard player Grant Winterburn, trombonist Damian Forlong from Wellington band Shaken Not Stirred, and guitar player Nigel Gavin (Nairobi Trio, Jews Brothers Band).
Singers Marion Arts and Tracie de Jong and a number of surprise guests will also be at the concert.
