Action from the boys' intermediate high jump competition.

Action from the boys' intermediate high jump competition.

Athletics MMC school athletics were held on Monday at the Tauranga Domain where seven school records were broken.

These include the junior girls' 100m, 200m, 300m, long jump and javelin and the senior girls' javelin and the senior boys' shot put records.

This is an outstanding performance that shows the abundance of talented athletes we have within our school.

Senior boys' champion is Steven Whyte who won the 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m track events. Caitlyn Lyttle is senior girls' champion and broke the senior girls javelin record with a distance of 31.06m as well as winning the senior girls discus and shot put events.

Shalom Broughton took out the intermediate boys' award breaking the shot put record from 1965 with a distance of 13.55m. Shalom also won the intermediate boys' high jump, discus and javelin events.
