A magnitude 4.6 earthquake was felt in Tauranga today.
The earthquake, which was located 25km from Rotorua, was recorded at a depth of 142km at 1.14pm.
The quake has been felt by people from Tauranga, Welcome Bay and Mount Maunganui according to the GeoNet website's felt reports.
