Just one team will have an unbeaten Baywide Cup record this season after stumps are drawn at the Te Puke Domain tomorrow.

Front runners New World Te Puke and Eves Realty Greerton will square off with the winner almost certainly booking a place in the Baywide Cup final on December 19. While Greerton are behind Te Puke and Element IMF Cadets in the standings, they have sat out the bye round while their rivals have yet to have a Saturday off.

Te Puke have beaten Central, Tauranga Boys' College, Bay of Plenty Indians and Mount Maunganui, while Greerton were too good for Bay of Plenty Indians, Mount Maunganui and Cadets in the 2015 Baywide Cup title race.

Te Puke has a new look team with several highly promising young talents joining this season.


"We have had a number of youngsters join our team, with Tom Wakelin, Jonty Grigson and Christian MacDonald performing with maturity beyond their years," Te Puke captain Stephen Crossan said.

"Last season's regulars have also been joined by Alex Gooding, who played a big part in beating his old club Mount Maunganui in round four. We have won four from four by concentrating on our performances and standards, with our approach to the Greerton game the same of control the controllables.

"Te Puke Domain is a place of pride and history for the Te Puke Cricket Club and we will defend our patch with everything we have."

Greerton skipper Shane Wineti is expecting a high quality match tomorrow.

"Both teams are in form and with top quality players throughout each side, we are expecting an excellent contest," he said.

"Our premier side is a well-balanced team and each of our eleven players must execute their role in the team if we are to be successful at the Te Puke Domain."

In other Baywide Cup matches, Cooney Lees Morgan Tauranga Boys' College should defeat Bay of Plenty Indians at Nicholson Field, while Carrus Mount Maunganui will be looking to move up the standings against Bayleys Central at Blake Park.
