Hundreds gathered today in the central business district to watch their bosses get dropped off the side of a five-storey building for a good cause.

Twenty-six Tauranga leaders took the plunge and helped to raise thousands for the Foundation for Youth Development (FYD) organisation, which helps instill good values and life skills in young people.

The Drop Your Boss event involved high-profile local leaders to abseil down Regional House as part of the fundraising drive.

Bosses included Deputy Mayor Kelvin Clout, Tauranga MP Simon Bridges, and Otumoetai College principal Dave Randell.
