Fire breathers at the IlluminArt 2013 festival.

Greerton Village will light up in every way imaginable tonight as the village celebrates with an illuminating party.

Streets will be closed to make way for Greerton IlluminArt Light Festival 2014 from 5pm tonight at the Greerton Village Square.

Events will begin at 6pm with Samba dancers leading a lantern parade down Chadwick Rd before hot air balloons lift off and a fire show takes place. A mass lantern release is also expected to take place, if the weather places ball.

The family fun event was postponed after poor weather last weekend.

Other entertainment includes a UV glow walkway, lantern display and roving fire performers.

Parking is expected to be limited and people are encouraged to catch buses on routes 1, 2 and 55, which are running through to 10pm. Find your bus route here baybus.co.nz.
