Car lands in ditch in Hairini

A car has come off the road and landed in a ditch on State Highway 29 near Hairini tonight.

A witness at the scene said a station wagon was sitting in the ditch off the highway outside the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic.

Two police cars and an ambulance were at the scene, he said.

A St John spokesperson said it was a minor crash and the driver would not be taken to hospital.
