Pressure is mounting on organisers to decide on the next stage for the Battle of Gate Pa exhibition, with hopes of it finding a permanent home in Tauranga.
The project is lined up to go into storage on Queen's Birthday Weekend after the current exhibition ends at Greerton Hall.
Gate Pa Trust chairman Terry Malloy said more than 4000 people had viewed the commemorative exhibition and many had said it would be a shame if it was stored away.
"There's huge support for it to be a permanent exhibition in Tauranga ... It's been a $150,000 project so it would be a pity to put it into storage," he said.
The trust was working with potential funders towards the possibility of taking the show on the road, visiting schools, other towns and possibly museums. He hoped talks about the exhibition's future would prompt further discussions about a museum for Tauranga.
