A Te Puke store manager accused of selling synthetic cannabis without a licence from his workplace plans to defend the allegation.
Harjit Singh Bath, 24, denied a charge of selling an approved psychoactive substance product without a licence when he appeared in Tauranga Registrar's Court today.
Police allege Bath sold some Tai High Black to a male customer on April 23 this year without the approved retail licence.
It is further alleged that when police searched the store at the centre of the charged they found a quantity of the then-legal highs.
Bath, who was further remanded on bail, will next appear in Tauranga District Court on July 1 for case review hearing.
